From our youngest learners to our oldest, it has been a busy and rewarding week of outdoor learning at Ravenswood. Nursery children enjoyed a lovely visit to Whitehouse Farm, with staff praising them for being polite, friendly and excellent listeners. Our Year 6 pupils have been working hard in the run-up to SATs and also enjoyed spending time outdoors checking on the apple trees planted earlier in the year, which are now in beautiful bloom.
Friends of Ravenswood (FOR) Money Snake Challenge
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Friends of Ravenswood Money Snake Challenge. The children collected an impressive amount of spare change and worked collaboratively today to build the longest possible snake. We’ll be revealing the winning class very soon. Thank you, as always, for your generous support.
Children’s Cancer Run
On Sunday 17th May at Newcastle Racecourse, Gosforth Park, Ravenswood Primary School will have a slot to take part in the Children’s Cancer Run. Children and families can take part in either the mini run: 1k or the 3/5mile run. Mrs Williams will be there to lead the mini run and Mr Anderson will be at the start of the 3/5 mile run. However, children will need to either run the 3/5 mile run with a friend or be accompanied by an adult as there won’t be staff members to complete with children.
To sign up, please visit: https://childrenscancernorth.org.uk/ and click ‘join in the fun’ once choose the ‘adult / child / family’ option it will ask if you’re running for a school. Type in ‘Ravenswood Primary School’ and you’ll be able to join our team. We should be starting the run at 10am on Sunday. We’d love to see you there.

Monday 4th May - Please note the school is closed for the Bank Holiday – school opens again as usual on Tuesday 5th May.
Thursday 7th May - The Key Stage 1 hall will used as a polling station for Local government elections

Weds 1st July – Nursery - 1pm (full cohort)
Mon 6th July – KS1 / KS2 Sports Days:
- - Year 1 + 2 9:05 till 10:05
- - Year 3 + 4 10:30 till 11:30
- - Year 5 + 6 13:30 till 14:30
Weds 8th July – Reception sports day - 2pm
