15.05.26 - Newsletter

Well done year 6

We would like to begin this week’s newsletter by congratulating all of our Year 6 pupils for completing their SATs papers. The children have worked incredibly hard throughout the year, and we are very proud of the resilience, focus, and maturity they demonstrated across the week.

We hope you all enjoy your well-deserved trip to InflataSpace next week!

A big thank you goes to all of the staff across the school who have supported the children in their preparations, and to parents and carers for ensuring pupils arrived at school on time each day.

Fantastic school Art

As part of the Peter Rabbit: Tales On The Tyne - A Wild in Art Event Miss Hines has been very busy with school councillors in preparing our very own Ravens-Rabbit. All children and staff in school have been invited to put a thumb print on our Rabbit which is looking fantastic. Our Ravens Rabbit will be on display in Newcastle from 15th July to Monday 14th September 2026. We can’t wait to share its location with you as soon as it has been confirmed!

Our year 5 pupils have also put on a brilliant Pop art display in the style of Louie Jover and Robert Rauschenberg including well known places around the north east:

Class Photograph Day

On Wednesday we’re having class photographs. If the weather is nice then the children will have their photos outside in the garden, if not they’ll be inside in the school halls. A reminder that if children have PE on this day, they should come to school in their uniforms and then get changed for PE afterwards.

 Children’s Cancer Run

This Sunday 17 May at Newcastle Racecourse, Gosforth Park, Ravenswood Primary School will be taking part in the Children’s Cancer Run.

Families can choose between the Mini Run (1 km) or the 3 or 5 mile run. Mrs Williams will lead the Mini Run, and Mr Anderson will be at the start of the 3/5 mile route.

Please note: children taking part in the 3 or 5 mile run must run with a friend or be accompanied by an adult, as staff will not be running alongside participants.

To sign up, visit: https://childrenscancernorth.org.uk/ and click ‘Join in the Fun’. Select the adult / child / family option, then enter ‘Ravenswood Primary School’ when prompted to join our team.

Our school start time is 10:00am, and we will meet from 9:45am. We’d love to see you there!
